This property is NOT currently on the market. I'm not sure why Trulia doesn't clarify this with bold, large font, black with red lettering stating this fact. Trulia shows properties that are now bank owned.
As the description states...Bank Repossessed. This property has completed the foreclosure process and is now owned by the foreclosing lender, which took title to the property.
There's a good chance the property will be listed in the near future by an agent. Contact a local agent and have them keep their eye out - and follow yourself! Do not pay any attention to the price they show next to the address. The owning bank will hire an appraiser or agent to visit the property and assess value. They will price the property based on local comparable sales and condition. That will likely be the price they will start the listing.... more

It will be a better idea to recommend to order an appraisal to the prospective buyer. The appraisal will be conducted for somebody with license to do so. Like that you are out of the loop.

Hi,
Brokers are not supposed to give their opinions about the safety of an area. I'm sure you have read the good advice below to check the crime stats and local police. Just want to add that I live in Roslindale with two children and so far it has been great! Convenient to the city, and plenty of programs for children through the Roslindale Community Center, plus many more programs available in West Roxbury and Hyde Park for Roslindale residents.
Best of luck,

If you are concerned about crime, your best source of accurate information are the local authorities, consider a visit/call and ask all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area, do take the time and visit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals, etc., then make your determination,... more
If you want a "decent" place I don't think you're going to get anything any cheaper than just getting into an area hotel for the week. You should be able to negotiate with most local hotels for 1 weeks for 2-4 rooms/ block. Don't know if there is a residence inn kind of place around there.
A private home generally is not going to be big enough to house 6-8 people just for 1 week. You'll end up paying for a whole month, just for 1 week- I think.
Good luck though...
