The Capitol Metro system does a great job for people looking to commute from and to downtown 7 days a week. I know that this November there is going to be a new proposal on the ballot to create a light rail system that would focus more in the UT area and downtown. Yes there is. We don't have as many options as other cities and frankly, not too many people take advantage of the options that are available:-).

It depends on from where, and since your question is very vague it's hard to answer accurately. But Austin has busses, the new Metrorail(train), taxis, pedicabs, etc. We also have something called car2go.com which you might want to investigate. Joe Jarusinsky, Keller Williams Realty, Austin Texas
