As an Real Estate Agent, I can not comment on whether an area is "safe" or not, none of us can. However I can point you in the right direction to get that information. Here is the url for the City of Houston Police Beat Crime stats ... http://www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/beatpages/beat_stats.htm and this link is for a website called Mylocalcrime.com ... http://www.mylocalcrime.com/#77040. Compare and make your own determinations. The nearest elementary school is right outside the subdivision the home is in. The remainder of the schools are all within a close distance (by Houston standards). If you have any other question give me a call or email me...
Thank you for your time,

According to the latest FEMA map, this property is not in a flood zone ... but this is Houston, so there's no guarantee.
FYI ... the price of this home would indicate that any purchase would have to be a cash sale. Most lenders won't touch anything less than a $75,000 to $100,000 mortgage. If you can verify the funds (and it can't be a recent deposit ... unless you inherited a large sum or just won the lottery) and would like to move forward on this property, please get in touch.
This home is about 30 minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport. I'd be happy to give you more details and answer any other questions you have.

Public transportatoin in Houston is always do-able as in most large cities, but as I suggest in Texas, it is best to own a car. That is unless you live very close to work/school. Houston is so large that it prevents you from enjoying much of what the city has to offer.

The trains run 24 hours a day. I live close to them . . . and of course I have many buyers ask the same question. A while back I called to find out if there was a schedule. Amtrack has a schedule (it's not punctual), but the freight trains do not. They run after they are loaded at the ship channel. Ships arrive and depart at all different times of day. Therefore, these trains do the same and are not set on any schedule. They leave when they are loaded.... more
Houston has METRO bus service fulfilling the needs of most of the city. Some peripheral areas are not serviced as well. The city is growing so rapidly, the public transportation system has trouble finding new routes fast enough.... more
