Yes - it is hot!!!
But don't let the heat affect your curb appeal this summer! Watch those potted plants and if they are dead - then get rid of the evidence. The last thing you want to tell a potential buyer is that their plants won't survive either!!!
Check the timing on your drip irrigation. Make sure it is sufficient for the summer months. Lantana and hibiscus offer great color during these hot months so add these to your landscape for a pop of color.
Do you have shade? Potential buyers will be looking for shade outside...anywhere. So even if you don't have shade on the back patio make the best use of the shade you have. Place some cute patio furniture under a tree, set the table under the umbrella or even a nice bench out front can direct the buyers attention to the nice areas that you do have.
Keep the fountains full of water and running - everyone loves the sound of water.
The inside of your home should be kept cool - but anything under 90 degrees feels great when you walk in the door from outside! So you don't have to break your budget by setting the thermostat at 60 degrees. Actually 78 to 80 degrees is quite sufficient and also economical. Leave your ceiling fans on as well to keep the air moving and your guests comfortable.
People are still out looking in the summer so don't let that potential buyer slip away because of a few murdered plants out front! You may not be the sole reason for that death but you don't want to be the reason the potential buyers didn't even get out of the car to check out your great home.
Stay cool this summer and feel free to send me any questions you might have!
